The balance of power in the Pennsylvania State House has officially switched to the Democrats.

On Thursday afternoon, the Republican incumbent in one of the two uncalled races conceded, giving Democrats 102 seats. There is still one race left to be decided. senate for a person to succeed him as attorney general.  The person will serve the remainder of Shapiro’s four-year term which will last through 2024.  

State health officials say the number of COVID cases in Pennsylvania is continuing to decline and has now dropped below ten-thousand in a weekly report.  There were just over 97-hundred new cases in the state for the week ending Tuesday, November 15th. That total number is down about 19 percent from the previous week’s figures.   

This is the first time the Democrats have taken control in more than a decade.

Pennsylvania Governor-elect Josh Shapiro is easing into his new role. At his first news conference at the Capitol Wednesday, he said  he will remain as attorney general until he is sworn in as governor January 17th.  He said he’ll provide his nomination to the state

 State police say a Johnstown man is behind bars after he allegedly sent a video of a young child being sexually assaulted to a woman that he was talking with online.

WJAC TV reports 31-year-old Effie Bazan faces one felony count of disseminating material that depicts child sex acts, according to court records.

Police say the investigation into Bazan began in September when police were contacted by a woman, who lives in Gettysburg, who claimed that she received a video of child pornography.

Court dockets show that Bazan was taken into custody on Nov. 9th and is being held at the Cambria County Prison on $150,000 bail.

A trip to Walmart in Clearfield County ended up making someone a millionaire after hitting the jackpot on a Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off game.

WTAJ TV Reports The PA Lottery said the winning ticket was a $20 Cash Corner game with a grand prize of $1,000,000 and it was sold at Walmart on Supercenter Drive in Clearfield. This is the second Cash Corner grand prize that’s been sold in just two days.

Walmart will get a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The lottery says that scratch-offs are distributed at random. The organization and its retailers do not know where winning tickets will be sold. They learn where winning tickets are sold only after claiming a prize.

Ticketmaster is canceling today’s scheduled public on-sale of tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming tour.  The company cites an “extraordinarily high” demand on ticketing systems.  It also said the cancelation is caused by an insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet the demand the sale will generate.  This comes as investigations have been launched into Ticketmaster for its handling of the sale of tickets for Swift’s “The Eras Tour.”  Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform at Acrisure Stadium June 16th and 17th of next year.
