The reamains of a Blair County veteran who lost his life in the Korean war will finally becoming home.

The Altoona Mirror reports that Altoona native David Defibaugh grew up in Carson Valley, went off to war in Korea in 1950 at age 18.  Defibaugh went missing in July of that year and was declared presumed dead in 1953.

Last  August, officials confirmed the identity of his remains and informed his surviving extended family members.

His family members have arranged for a service this Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery, in a family plot where his parents are buried.

Saturday night Lottery Players will have a chance to win one of the largest jackpot prizes of all time.  No winning tickets were sold for last night’s multi-state Powerball drawing.  The game has gone more than 3 months without a top-prize winning ticket being sold.  Saturday night’s jackpot is an estimated 1.5-billion dollars.

A man was killed after a motorcycle crash happened Wednesday in Blair County, according WTAJ TV reports.

Allegheny Township police stated that around 12:04 p.m., they were called to a reported crash between a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of South Logan Boulevard and Convention Center Boulevard.

A 66-year-old man was injured from the crash and was transported to UPMC Altoona, where he was later pronounced dead.  He was not identified in the police news release as police are still trying to notify the family.

Authorities with the Altoona Police Department say a Hollidaysburg man is facing embezzlement charges after being accused of stealing hundreds-of-thousands of dollars from a Blair County law firm.

WJAC TV is reporting that Police say 41-year-old Adam Bush allegedly embezzled $380,000 from the accounts of Goldstein & Heslop Law Firm, over the course of a 3-year period, where he was employed as a bookkeeper.

Authorities say Bush faces several felonies including forgery, access device fraud, identity theft, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal use of a communication device.

Police say Bush turned himself in on Wednesday and is out on bail while he awaits a preliminary hearing.
