There was a crash that resulted in entrapment on Monday, Sept. 5. The Philipsburg Fire Department responded to a crash on Railroad Street in Rush Township at 6 am yesterday morning.  The driver was entrapped in the vehicle. Crews were able to extract the driver in a little over five minutes. The driver and the cause of the crash have not been identified.

Authorities are investigating a plane crash that occurred at the Clearfield Lawrence Airport on Friday. Police say the plane was attempting to take off when it left the runway and crashed into a wooded area.  No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

The latest poll from FiveThirtyEight shows U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz with about 40 percent of the vote compared to opponent John Fetterman’s over 48 percent. In the race for governor, the poll gives state Senator Doug Mastriano 41 percent to Democratic Attorney General Josh Shapiro’s 48 percent.   

An Altoona man is behind bars after two different warrants caught up to him. Jean Gray was wanted with two felony bench warrants, one for possession of firearms and drugs and the other for theft. He was placed in Blair County Prison on $100,000 bail.

The Pennsylvania Department of State says it needs poll workers in all 67 counties ahead of November’s mid-term elections. The Department of State says poll workers can be paid for training sessions and for their work on Election Day. The Pennsylvania Poll Worker Interest Form can be filled out on the Department of State’s website.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 8th. 

Gas prices are dropping in Pennsylvania and the nation. In Pennsylvania, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is three dollars and 98 cents, while the national average is three dollars and 77 cents.
