State police are investigating after a body was found in the Susquehanna River. The body was found on Thursday, August 12 in the river near Curwensville. According to Clearfield County Coroner, Kim Shaffer Snyder, an autopsy was scheduled for Saturday, August 13. No further information is available at this time.

Two men are facing charges and a third is wanted after state police say they were caught stealing copper wire from a business in Somerset County. Robert Hollingshead and  Eric Sechler were charged with burglary related offenses and possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia. Sechler was also charged with resisting arrest. Both men are in Somerset County Prison. Skyler Miller is wanted by state police on similar charges.

A disturbance at a nursing home before getting a truck stuck in someone’s yard, all while being drunk, has led to charges for an Altoona man. Robert Thomas III faces charges of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, flight to avoid apprehension, and also DUI. Thomas is currently lodged in Blair County Prison.

State Police said they are looking for a missing woman in Somerset County. Troopers said they are looking for Tammy Berkey out of Berlin. No details about her disappearance were released, but state police did say as part of their investigation a relative of Berkey’s died by suicide. A fatal motorcycle crash occurred Sunday morning in Eldred Township. The crash occurred at 6:17 a.m. on Route 36 at Carls Lane and involved a single motorcycle. The coroner was called to the scene, but no further details of the crash have been released at this time.

Pennsylvania will have its own representative in the Little League World Series in Williamsport this coming week. Hollidaysburg wrapped up a Mid-Atlantic Region title Friday by beating Delaware seven to three. Pennsylvania will open the United States bracket at 7 p.m. Thursday vs. the Southwest Region champ at Lamade [[LAM-a-dee ]] Stadium.
