Police are looking for a man who stole liquor bottles from a restaurant in downtown State College early Monday morning. The man walked into The Tavern at 2 a.m. when it was closed and stole five liquor bottles from the bar. He and another man then fled on foot on West College Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to call the State College Police Department at 814-234-7150.

A Brockway man was arrested after police said he led them on a high-speed chase before ditching the motorcycle and trying to flee on foot. Alexander Ross was taken into custody after a 20-minute chase with police on Aug. 10 that led them through multiple townships that ended in DuBois. Ross was placed in Clearfield County Prison.

Multiple injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash in Bedford Count on Thursday morning. Crews were called to I-99 in Bedford Township at the end of the PA Turnpike exit/entrance ramp near the former Ed’s Steak House for a two vehicle crash. Dispatch said that all victims were then sent to UPMC Bedford, however, the number of people involved is unknown.

An Altoona man is behind bars after police were told he broke into a family’s home and assaulted a man before taking off on a pedal bike. Timothy Schwartztrauber has been arrested and charged for punching a man who he believed was having sex with a 15-year-old girl. He’s currently in Blair County Prison.

Governor Tom Wolf is asking Pennsylvania’s legislature to act to raise the state’s minimum wage. Governor Wolf said that the minimum wage in Pennsylvania must be raised to keep up with neighboring states. He said Pennsylvania’s neighbor’s are paying a lot more per hour to do the same jobs. Pennsylvania’s minimum wage is seven-dollars-and-25-cents an hour.

Drivers in Pennsylvania are still paying more for gas than the rest of the nation. The average price for a gallon of regular gas nationwide is under four-dollars at three-99. In Pennsylvania, the average is over four-dollars-and-30-cents.
