One person is dead following a crash in Bedford County Saturday afternoon. Thomas Osman was killed while driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla with a female passenger around 2:17 p.m. Saturday. Osman was transported to UPMC Bedford where he passed away. The female passenger was transported to Conemaugh Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.

An Altoona man is back behind bars after he allegedly assaulted a woman so badly to the point she told police her hands were possibly broken. Robert Sprankle was arrested Thursday, Aug. 4, after neighbors called police to report they heard a woman screaming that he was beating her and pointed a gun at her. Sprankle was already on bail for another assault case from April 25. He was denied bail and is back behind bars at Blair County Prison.

The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Pennsylvania is currently four dollars and 38 cents, while the national average is four dollars and 5 cents.

An Altoona man is now facing child endangerment and drug charges after police said they found meth in a deplorable home. David Winters Jr. has been charged with endangering the welfare of children and possession of a controlled substance. Winters is currently in Blair County Prison with bail set at $45,000.

A former UPMC Altoona registered nurse will spend six months on house arrest with electronic monitoring to start what will be seven years of probation for stealing narcotic medication from the hospital. Dena Jo Pacifico was sentenced Friday in Blair County court.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman is expected to return to the campaign trail soon.  The campaign for the Lieutenant Governor says he will attend an event in Erie on August 12th.   Fetterman hasn’t attended a public campaign event since suffering a stroke days before the May primary.
