State police are searching for two suspects they say broke into a discount store and tried to make off with a safe in the early morning Wednesday hours. Police were called to Country Bargains Variety Discount Store in Hooversville for a burglary that happened around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 3. Anyone with information is asked to call state police out of Somerset at 814-445-4104.

A man in Cambria County jail for a drug bust that turned up over $31,000 worth of drugs is now facing additional charges for assaulting a fellow inmate he believed was a snitch. In addition to the drug charges from the drug bust, Blessen Sesay now faces two felony counts of aggravated assault and assault by prisoner. He also faces other charges, such as recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, strangulation, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Pennsylvania is currently four dollars and 44 cents, while the national average is four dollars and 13 cents.

A child alerting a neighbor to call 911 has led to charges for two Altoona men who overdosed in the home with the kid. Scott Tilson and Brian Tilson overdosed on heroin on Tuesday at about 7:53 p.m. The two men were found by police upstairs on a bedroom floor and were given Narcan. Brian and Scott face felony conspiracy and endangering the welfare of children among other charges, and are in Blair County Prison.

The Clearfield County Farm Bureau and state legislators met and talked about some of the issues farmers are currently facing at the Curwensville feed store as well as a tour of the facilities. Inflation, broadband internet, supply chains, meat processing, dairy issues, and energy were the issues brought up. Among the audience, many officials are on the farmer’s side. 

State election officials want to remind residents that some deadlines are in place to apply for mail-in or absentee ballots.  Registered voters have until 5 p.m. November 1st to apply for the “no excuse” mail-in ballots. The completed forms must be received at local county election offices by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
