An Altoona man was charged after a woman said he hit her and a two-year-old child. Trey Greene was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of simple assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment. He was placed on $15,000 unsecured bail.

A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday morning where new information is expected to be released following an investigation into the murder of a Hollidaysburg man in 2020. The Blair County District Attorney’s Office announced the conference will be held at 10 a.m. and will discuss the death of Tyler Richard Slippy. Slippy was found dead by family members on Nov. 22, 2020 in his apartment. An autopsy showed he died from severe blood loss from four separate stab wound. 

An Altoona man is facing charges after reportedly crashing a U-Haul into another car, fleeing, and being found with open cans of Mike’s Hard alcoholic beverages. Larry Reed  was arrested and charged with two felony DUI charges as well as multiple related misdemeanor and summary charges.

Firefighters battled a blaze in Tyrone where two buildings were involved. The fire was reported at a two unit apartment at 1314 Pennsylvania Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Everyone got out of the building. Two people also reportedly escaped out of the back 2nd floor window. The blaze also spread to a neighboring home. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

An Altoona man was arrested after a number of witnesses told police he stabbed another man over the weekend in the city. Police arrested 39-year-old Gordon Perry after they were called to a stabbing on Pleasant Valley Blvd. at around 5 a.m. July 17. Perry was placed in Blair County Prison. He’s facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, escape, terroristic threats and more.

Gas prices in the area are easing even more. The average price for a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is four-dollars and 68-cents as of Monday. That’s down ten cents from a week ago.
