A woman is facing charges after state police say an argument with her boyfriend lead to her stealing his car keys and biting his hand on I-99. Stephanie Olsen was charged with theft by unlawful taking, simple assault, harassment and criminal attempt. She was placed in Bedford County Prison.

A man is being accused of stealing $100,000 in cash from his former employer and then using it to pay for a Dodge pickup truck. Zachary Thomas Blank allegedly broke into a used car dealership in Johnstown and took $100,000 in $100 bills and a gun from an office desk drawer. Blank is lodged in Cambria County Prison.

A woman has been charged after police said she allegedly severely injured someone with her vehicle in 2021 while she was driving drunk with a case of Blue Moon. Whitney Stauffer has been charged with multiple aggravated assault charges, including aggravated assault by a vehicle, along with multiple other simple driving-related charges.

An Altoona man is facing charges after police say he strangled his brother during an argument. Zachary Ferris physically assaulted his brother at his home along 17th Avenue on June 11 when his brother told him he could not help him move his personal items out of his home. Ferris was charged with felony strangulation, simple assault and harassment.

Altoona Police are investigating the vandalism of the “Circle of Hope” monument at Tuckahoe Park. Authorities say the vandalism occurred last Friday night when an unknown individual(s) bent the monument and damaged or stole several lighting fixtures. Police say the vandal(s) also attempted to rip a bush out of the ground. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact the Altoona Police Department at 814-949-2490.
