State police are investigating after an armed robbery occurred late Saturday night in Bellefonte. The robbery occurred at the Econo Lodge off of Benner Pike, as the suspect approached the victim he pulled out a black and silver semi auto handgun. The suspect told the victim to give him his belongings and then fled on foot. State police describe the suspect as being about 6ft 2in and weighs about 220 pounds. A Tyrone man is being charged after an accidental shooting occurred in November 2021.

Raulin Dick shot a 5-year-old girl in the arm with a 9mm handgun in November by accident. Dick has a preliminary hearing set for Jan. 18 and was released on unsecured bond worth $50,000.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports 24,683 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported since Friday, bringing the state total to 2,265,232 known cases since the start of the pandemic.

A Clearfield woman faces multiple charges after urinating on a police officer who was arresting her for a DUI crash on January 5th. Bobbi Sue Yatsko faces multiple charges including aggravated assault in relation to the crash. Yatsko said she didn’t remember what happened, then officers found a can of Twisted Tea beside the driver’s seat of her car.  As officers attempted to arrest her, she urinated on an officer’s leg and spit in a different officer’s face. She continued to assault the officers when they arrived at Clearfield County Jail.

 A trooper is facing charges following an off-duty physical altercation that happened early Saturday in Cambria County. Trooper Scott Myers was arrested after the incident that occurred at a residence in Summerhill Township. He faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and simple assault. State Police say that Trooper Myers is currently suspended without pay regarding the criminal charges against him.

Senator Doug Mastriano, a state senator and former Army colonel from Franklin County has announced his candidacy to be the state’s next governor. He officially started his candidacy Saturday afternoon.
