State police are searching for a truck that was reported stolen Sunday evening from a home in Elk County. Police report that a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD was stolen from a driveway at a man’s home on Route 949 in Ridgway sometime between 6 p.m and 10 p.m. on Dec. 12. The Chevy is said to be silver in color with plates reading YGV6250. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at 814-371-4652.

A man is behind bars for allegedly assaulting a state cop and threatening him, saying “I’ll see you when I get out.” State police responded to a report of a disabled motorist and they said the driver Dennis Richardson had a strong alcohol odor, slurred speech and lacked coordination. There was a case of Twisted Tea in the front passenger seat and multiple open cans inside and outside the vehicle. Richardson was arrested and while in the car, he allegedly threatened to fight the trooper before launching himself across the center console, head-butting the trooper. He then used his foot to pry open the passenger side door and attempted to get away.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports 7,301 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported since Tuesday, bringing the state total to 1,857,879 known cases. Our central region shows 419 new cases since Tuesday, bringing our total to 125,868 known COVID-19 cases.

The Altoona Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating a missing person.

John Walls was last seen by his mother at her house on Monday Dec. 13 and she has not heard from him since. Walls is described by police as being 5ft 9, 200 pounds, white male with short brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information regarding Walls’ whereabouts is told to contact Altoona Police Department at 814-949-2490.

An Altoona man, who was roaming the streets while naked, has been charged after trying to assault officers. The incident happened the night of Dec. 3 when officers received multiple calls about a naked man screaming “thank you God!” in the streets. When Darius Kenion was approached by police, they say he began running away. Police say they eventually caught up with him and he started trying to punch the officers until he was tased and taken into custody.

A Johnstown woman was arrested Tuesday after police reported she was drunk driving before getting her car stuck on train tracks with her 5-year-old son. A witness said they saw a car on the railroad tracks and went over to help get the car unstuck and Michelle Tomkosky was in the driver’s seat and was visibly drunk. The witness also noted there was a child in the backseat. Police noted she was slurring her words and smelled like alcohol, though she claimed she didn’t have anything to drink.
