GOV TOM WOLF WILL ANNOUNCE HIS PLANS TO RAISE PERSONAL INCOME TAX LEVELS IN PA TO SUPPORT MORE FUNDING FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION. THAT NEWS COMES FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS IN AN ALTOONA MIRROR STORY TODAY. THE PROPOSAL WOULD RAISE $7 BILLION IF IT PASSES. THERE IS REPORTEDLY STRONG OPPOSITION TO THE PLAN FROM REPUBLICANS IN HARRISBURG.

THE FRATERNITY WAS ON INTERIM SUSPENSION FOR OTHER ISSUES IN OCTOBER.

AUTHORITIES IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY HAVE ARRESTED A MAN AND CHARGED HIM WITH THREATENING TO BLOW UP A FEDERAL BUILDING IN PITTSBURGH. 60 YEAR OLD ALBERT MORRIS JR WAS ARRESTED FOR CALLING IN THE THREAT MONDAY. THE BUILDING WAS EVACUATED, BUT NO BOMB WAS FOUND. HE IS CHARGED WITH TERRORISTIC THREATS AND THREATS OF MASS DESTRUCTUION.

 

THE DEPT OF HEALTH ANNOUNCED NEARLY 4500 NEW CASES OF COVID-19 WERE CONFIRMED YESTERDAY ACROSS PA. THAT BRINGS TO TOTAL NUMBER OF CASES REPORTED TO MORE THAN 850,000. SOME 3200 PEOPLE ARE STILL HOSPITALIZED WITH THE VIRUS, AND 650 OF THOSE PATIENTS ARE IN INTENSIVE CARE UNITS.
