A STATE REPRESENTATIVE IS CALLING FOR THE NATIONAL GUARD TO DISTRIBUTE THE COVID-19 VACCINE. REPUBLICAN TIM O’NEAL IS ASKING GOV WOLF TO SET UP VACCINE CLINICS IN EACH OF THE STATE’S 67 COUNTIES, WITH THE HELP OF THE NATIONAL GUARD. O’NEAL’S BILL HAS NO DEMOCRATIC SUPPORT, BUT HE HOPES THAT ALL WILL COME TOGETHER GET GET THIS BILL PASSED.

 

THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTED OVER THE WEEKEND THAT SOME IN PENNSYLVANIA FEEL THE CORONAVIRUS VACCINE IS GETTING OUT TO THOSE WHO ARE FIRST IN LINE, WHILE OTHERS SAY THAT IT IS NOT BEEN HANDLED PROPERLY BY THE WOLF ADMINSTRATION. CONGRESSMAN DR. JOHN JOYCE SAID THAT HE IS ALARMED THAT SOME RURAL AREAS OF THE STATE HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THE VACCINES.

 

BLAIR COUNTY IS TARGETING APRIL FOR THE RETURN OF JURY TRIALS. WJAC REPORTED THAT APRIL 5TH IS THE POTENTIAL RETURN DATE OF COURTROOM TRIALS. THE TRIALS AND JURY SELECTIONS HAVE BEEN PUT ON HOLD BECAUSE OF THE ONGOING PANDEMIC, WHICH HAS CREATED THE BACKLOG OF CASES NOW AWAITING THE D.A.’S OFFICE.

 

THE BLAIR COUNTY ELECTIONS AND VOTER REGISTRATION OFFICE HAS A NEW ADDRESS. THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS THAT THE OFFICE HAS RELOCATED TO THE COUNTY HIGHWAY YARD FACILITY LOCATED AT 279A LOOP ROAD. THE NEW LOCATION BRINGS TOGETHER ALL ASPECTS OF THE OFFICE INCLUDING PERSONNEL AND VOTING MATERIALS.

 

CAREERLINK OF ALTOONA ALSO HAS A NEW LOCATION, BUT THIS ONE IS TEMPORARY. CAREERLNIK ANNOUNCED IT HAS MOVED INTO THE DOWNTOWN ALTOONA TRANSPORTATION CENTER TEMPORARILY BECAUSE OF WATER DAMAGE SUSTAINED AT THE ALTOONA PUBLIC LIBRARY. CAREERLINK BEGINS IN ITS NEW HOME TODAY.

 

3 PEOPLE ARE DEAD DUE TO CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING. TELEVISION NEWS REPORTS INDICATE THAT BRENDA AND ROBERT McCLELLAN AND RONALD JASPER ALL OF COALPORT DIED SATURDAY FROM THE FUMES FROM A FURNACE. AUTHORITIES REPORT THAT THE HOME HAD NO CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS OR SMOKE DETECTORS.
