Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is chipping away at President Trump’s lead in Pennsylvania. Yesterday, gains from mail-in ballot counts across the state cut down a lead of hundreds-of-thousands of votes for Trump down to a little over 20-thousand.
PA Secretary of State Kathy Bookvar provided an update yesterday and said the vote count is going well.
The Blair County Board of Elections completed the second and third phases of canvassing yesterday which included any ballots received on Election Day. The Board will review provisional ballots this afternoon.
The Trump campaign is celebrating a big victory after a court order ruled their observers can get closer to the ballot counters in Philadelphia.
More than 35 thousand ballots in Allegheny County will not be counted until today at the earliest, and officials say there could be thousands more.
The State Department of Health yesterday confirmed 2,900 additional cases of COVID-19 bringing the total to 220,566 with 47 new deaths totaling 8,937. The number of Blair County cases stands at 1,528 confirmed with 205 probable and 33 deaths.
