The State Department of Health confirmed that there are 948 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 33,232 with 92 new deaths totaling 1,204. Blair County cases are up one to 14.
On the same day that Governor Tom Wolf vetoed a bill which would have allowed some businesses to re-open, thousands of people rallied outside the State Capitol.
Several local State Reps are blasting Governor Wolf for his veto of Senate bill 613 that would have allowed some business to open under CDC guidelines.
Governor Wolf says he will allow a slow opening of some businesses including construction and auto sales on May 8th.
Some landscape businesses continue to do business while independent garden centers are now allowed to be open.
A local furniture store owner says his business should be deemed essential and allowed to re-open.
