Dimebash 12/26/19

Foo Fighters main man Dave Grohl will once again lead the lineup of artists appearing at the annual Dimebash all-star jam, which will take place on Thursday, January 16th at The Observatory Orange County in Santa Ana, California. The event celebrates the life of late Pantera and Damageplan guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott.

A full lineup of musicians will be announced in early January, but Grohl is confirmed to perform and host an after-party barbecue. Grohl appeared at the 2019 Dimebash as well, alongside Slipknot’s Corey TaylorAnthrax’s Scott Ian and Charlie Benante, Pantera’s Rex Brown, former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and more.

Earlier this month marked the 15th anniversary of the tragic death of Dimebag, who was just 38 years old. He was slain onstage at a club in Columbus, Ohio on December 8th, 2004 by a crazed gunman while performing with his band Damageplan.

Dimebag’s longtime girlfriend, Rita Haney, who organizes each year’s Dimebash, stated, “This year will mark the 15 year anniversary since Darrell was taken from us . . . even more of a reason to come together with friends and chosen family to honor the man that brought so much love and laughter to our lives.”
