Last week, while we were focused on the CMAs, Forbes dropped their list of the 20 highest-earning country stars. It was actually 21 artists, because there was a tie at #20.
This is not total worth. It’s pretax earnings from June 1st of 2018, to this past June 1st. They included all income sources. Things like music sales, tours, hosting TV shows, clothing lines, and liquor brands.
Here’s the Top 10, along with their earnings:
1. Luke Bryan, $42.5 million.
2: Zac Brown Band, $38.5 million.
3. Keith Urban, $35 million
4. Blake Shelton, $32 million
5. Kenny Chesney, $31 million
6. Eric Church, $30 million
7. Shania Twain, $29 million
8. Florida Georgia Line, $26 million
9. Garth Brooks, $24 million
10. Jason Aldean, $23.5 million
Toby Keith, who is usually near the top, came in at #11 with $21 million. Tim McGraw is 13th with $18 million, and his wife Faith Hill is 17th with $15 million. Forbes DID point out that there’s some diversity this time around.
Lil Nas X, who’s an openly gay person of color, debuted at #18 with $14 million. And there were six women in the Top 20 . . . which Forbes says is the “least lopsided ratio in the seven years” they’ve published the list.
In addition to Faith and Shania . . . the other four females are Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Lady Antebellum with Hillary Scott.
