Garth Brooks to Receive Gershwin Prize for Popular Song

The Library of Congress will pay tribute to Garth Brooks with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, which recognizes a living artist’s lifetime achievement in promoting the genre of song.
Past recipients include Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Sir Paul McCartney, and Willie Nelson.
Garth, who is 57, will be the youngest recipient of the award when it’s presented in Washington, D.C. The concert will air on PBS stations nationwide next spring.
