TWO LOCAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARE RECOVERING FROM SEROIUS INJURIES, AND ITS GOOD NEWS FOR BOTH.

 

ALTOONA HIGH PLAYER MATT STREIGHTIFF WAS INJURED LAST WEEK AFTER TAKING 2 HITS TO THE BACK AND SHOULDER AREA, AND LOST FEELING FROM HIS CHEST DOWN. HIS BODY RECOVERED AND 2 DAYS AFTER, HE WAS UP WALKING AGAIN. STREIGHTIFF WILL NOT PLAY AGAIN THIS SEASON, BUT WILL SUPPORT HIS TEAMMATES AT PRACTICE AND ON THE SIDELINES AT GAMES.

 

MEANWHILE, HOLLIDAYSBURG GOLDEN TIGER ROBERT SMITH, WAS INJURED IN A GAME AGAINST STATE COLLEGE 2 WEEKS AGO, AND HAD TO BE TAKEN OFF THE FIELD IN AN AMBULANCE AS WELL. SMITH WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSITAL THAT NIGHT, BUT WAS CLEARED AND WENT HOME. HE RECENTLY PLAYED IN THE TIGERS JUNIOR VARSITY GAME THIS PAST MONDAY.
