PENN STATE HAS MOVED UP IN BOTH THE AP AND COACHES TOP 25 FOOTBALL POLLS HEADING INTO WEEK NUMBER 4 OF THE SEASON. THE LIONS ARE NOW # 9 IN THE AP POLL, WHILE THEY SIT AT NUMBER 10 IN THE COACHES POLL. PENN STATE WILL PLAY A RARE FRIDAY NIGHT GAME THIS WEEK AT ILLINOIS.

COULD THE NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE BE HEADED FOR A LOCKOUT IN 2019? BOTH THE LEAGUE AND PLAYERS UNION HAVE THE OPTION TO END THE CURRENT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT NEXT SEPTEMBER. IF THAT HAPPENS, THERE COULD BE A WORK STOPPAGE. BECAUSE REVENUES FOR THE LEAGUE HAVE INCREASED NEARLY 500 PERCENT SINCE 1993, PLAYERS ARE SUSPECT OF WANTING MORE OF THAT REVENUE, NAMELY MORE MONEY UP FRONT INCASE OF A WORK STOPPAGE. COMMISSIONER GARY BETTMAN SAYS HE WANTS TO HAVE STABILITY IN THE NHL, AND THE LEAGUE IS NOT LOOKING FOR A DISPUTE.
