PITCHER EDUARDO VERA GAVE UP JUST 2 HITS IN 7 2/3 INNINGS OF WORK. GEOFF GOTTLIEB WORKED THE FINAL 1 1/3 INNINGS TO PICK UP THE SAVE.

 

ALSO WITH THE WIN, ALTOONA MOVED INTO SOLE POSSESSION OF 1ST PLACE IN THE WESTERN DIVISION, 1 GAME AHEAD OF AKRON. ALTOONA NOW HAS THE BEST RECORD IN THE EASTERN LEAGUE.
