THE ALTOONA CURVE LET ANOTHER GAME SLIP AWAY LAST NIGHT, PREVENTING THEM FROM GETTING CLOSER TO FIRST PLACE. THE CURVE TOOK A 6-3 LEAD INTO THE 8TH INNING BEFORE NEW HAMPSHIRE SCORED 3 RUNS, THE TYING RUN SCORING ON AN ERROR BY WILL CRAIG. THEN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH, CAVAN BIGGIO HIT HIS SECOND HOME RUN OF THE NIGHT FOR THE WALK OFF WIN, AS THE FISHER CATS BEAT THE CURVE 7-6.

ALTOONA, LOST A CHANCE TO PULL TO WITHIN A HALF GAME OF AKRON, BECAUSE THE RUBBERDUCKS LOST TO BINGHAMTON. THIS WEEKEND THE CURVE CAN PICK UP GROUND NO MATTER WHAT. AKRON WILL PLAY A SERIES IN HARRISBURG. ANY WINS BY THE CURVE IN PORTLAND WILL ALLOW THEM TO PICK UP GROUND ON THE LOSING TEAM IN THAT SERIES.

THE CURVE WILL BEGIN SELLING PLAYOFF TICKETS TODAY AT PNG FIELD. A PACKET OF PLAYOFF TICKETS WILL COST $25, WITH INDIVIDUAL TICKETS GOING FOR $5. THE CURVE WON’T KNOW HOW MANY HOME PLAYOFF GAMES THEY WILL HAVE UNTIL THE PLAYOFF SERIES ARE DETERMINED.

IT COULD BE A LONG SEASON FOR THE BELLEFONTE FOOTBALL TEAM. THE RED RAIDERS MAY NOT HAVE ANY GAMES ON THEIR HOME FIELD THIS SEASON. THREE OF THEIR GAMES ARE SCHEDULED FOR BALD EAGLE AREA AND LOCK HAVEN UNIVERSITY. IF THE FIELD IS NOT READY, BELLEFONTE WILL HAVE TO PLAY ITS FINAL “HOME” GAME AT BALD EAGLE AREA AGAINST THE EAGLES.
