THE ALTOONA CURVE BEGIN THEIR LONGEST ROAD TRIP OF THE SEASON TONITE WITH A 3 GAME SERIES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE. THE CURVE WILL THEN HEAD TO PORTLAND FOR THE WEEKEND BEFORE GOING TO BINGHAMTON TO FINISH THE ROAD TRIP NEXT TUESDAY.

 

THE CURVE GOT SOME HELP LAST NIGHT, WHEN ERIE BEAT HARRISBURG 4-3. THE CURVE NOW LEAD HARRISBURG BY 3 ½  GAMES FOR THE SECOND PLAYOFF SPOT IN THE WESTERN DIVISION. ALTOONA AND HARRISBURG WILL MEET IN A 2 GAME SERIES NEXT WEEK AT PNG FIELD.

 

FORMER PENN STATE RUNNING BACK SAQUON BARKLEY IS NURSING A SLIGHT HAMSTRING PULL HE SUFFERED IN PRACTICE YESTERDAY. GIANTS OFFICIALS ARE NOT SAYING HOW SEVERE THE INJURY IS, BUT IT IS LIKELY THAT BARKLEY WILL NOT PLAY IN FRIDAY’S PRE-SEASON GAME AGAINST DETROIT.

 

THE IUP FOOTBALL PROGRAM HAS BEEN RANKED NUMBER 4 IN THE PRE-SEASON DIVISION II COACHES POLL. IUP FINISHED IN THE FINAL 4 OF DIVISION II LAST SEASON, LOSING IN THE NATIONAL SEMI-FINALS. THE CRIMSON HAWKS ARE ALSO PREDICTED TO WIN THE WEST DIVISION OF THE UPCOMING PSAC CONFERENCE SEASON.
