THE ALTOONA CURVE GOT A MUCH NEEDED WIN LAST NIGHT AT PNG FIELD. THE CURVE BEAT THE AKRON RUBBERDUCKS 4-1 TO GET WITHIN 5 GAMES OF 1ST PLACE WITH 4 WEEKS LEFT IN THE SEASON. KE’BRYAN HAYES 2 RUN HOMERUN IN THE 3RD INNING PUT THE CURVE IN THE LEAD FOR GOOD. CAM VIEAUX (VIEW) PITCHED 7 STRONG INNING S TO PICK UP THE WIN. THE CURVE AND AKRON WILL NOT MEET AGAIN THIS SEASON, UNLESS THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

 

ALTOONA WILL HAVE TODAY OFF, BEFORE HEADING TO TRENTON TO TAKE ON THE THUNDER FOR 3 GAMES BEGINNING TOMORROW NIGHT. THE CURVE RETURN HOME THIS FRIDAY FOR A WEEKEND SERIES AGAINST ERIE,WHICH INCLUDES A DOUBLEHEADER ON SATURDAY.

 

THE STATE COLLEGE SPIKES BEAT MAHONING VALLEY LAST NGIHT 4-3 AT MEDLAR FIELD. THE SPIKES WILL CONTINUE THEIR SERIES TONIGHT AGAINST MAHONING VALLEY. THE SPIKES ARE IN 5TH PLACE IN THE PINCKNEY DIVISIONOF THE NEW YORK-PENN LEAGUE.

 

THE NATIONAL AAABA TOURNAMENT BEGINS TODAY IN JOHNSTOWN AND CAMBRIA COUNTY. ALTOONA WILLL PLAY BROOKLYN “SAYO” AT NOON TODAY AT MT. ALOYSIUS COLLEGE. THE HOST TEAM OF THE TOURNEY, JOHNSTOWN MARTELLAS WILL PLAY PHILADELPHIA TONIGHT AT 7:30 AT POINT STADIUM.
