ONCE AGAIN, THE BULLPEN FOR THE ALTOONA CURVE GAVE AWAY A LATE LEAD, AND ENDURED ANOTHER LOSS. SEAN KESELICA SURRENDERED 4 RUNS IN THE 9TH INNING LAST NIGHT AS BOWIE ERASED A 2-1 DEFICIT AND BEAT THE CURVE 5-2. THE CURVE WERE HELD HITLESS UNTIL THE 7TH INNING. THE LOSS TOOK AWAY A GREAT EFFORT FROM STARTER TAYLOR HEARN, WHO ALLOWED ONLY 1 RUN THROUGH 6 INNINGS.

 

GAME 2 OF THE SERIES IS TONIGHT AT 7:00. EDUARDO VERA WILL TAKE THE MOUND FOR THE CURVE. ALTOONA SITS 5 GAMES BEHIND AKRON IN THE WESTERN DIVISION.

 

THE STATE COLLEGE SPIKES CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE. THE SPIKES WERE 2-1 LOSERS TO TRI-CITY AT HOME LAST NIGHT. THE SPIKES ARE IN LAST PLACE IN THE PINCKNEY DIVISION. STATE COLLEGE WILL NOW HIT THE ROAD, BEGINNING A SERIES AGAINST THE PIRATES SINGLE A AFFILIATE WEST VIRGINIA TONIGHT AT 7:05.
