THE TRENTON THUNDER ARE GETTING VERY CONFORTABLE WITH PNG FIELD. FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT NIGHT, TRENTON PUT UP 8 RUNS AND 14 HITS, ROUTING THE CURVE 8-2, TAKING THE FIRST 2 GAMES OF THE 5 GAME SET. THE CURVE ONCE AGAIN HAD PITCHING ISSUES. 5 RELIEVERS WERE USED FOR LAST NIGHTS GAME, BECAUSE OF INJURIES AND PLAYER MOVEMENTS.

 

THE SERIES CONTINUES TONIGHT AT 7:00. TAYLOR HEARN TAKES THE MOUND FOR ALTOONA, AGAINST MICHEAL KING FOR TRENTON.

 

PIRATES CATCHER FRANCISCO CERVELLI IS IN ALTOONA  BEGINNING A MINOR LEAGUE REHAB FOLLOWING HIS CONCUSSION. CERVELLI WAS THE DH IN LAST NIGHTS GAME, AND WILL PROBABLY DH AGAIN TONIGHT. FORMER PIRATE SHORTSTOP JAY BELL, IS THE MANAGER OF TRENTON.

 

THE STATE COLLEGE SPIKES ARE ON THE ROAD FOR THE WEEKEND. LAST NGIHT, THE SPIKES BEAT AUBURN 8-0. THE GAME WAS STOPPED AFTER 8 INNINGS. THE SPIKES WRAP UP THEIR SERIES IN AUBURN TOMORROW, BEFORE MOVING ON TO BATAVIA ON SUNDAY.
