TONITE WILL BE A VERY BIG GAME FOR THE ALTOONA CURVE. THE CURVE BEAT AKRON 6-3 LAST NIGHT TO CLIMB BACK TO 2 ½  GAMES BEHIND THE RUBBER DUCKS. A WIN TONIGHT WILL PUT ALTOONA JUST A GAME AND A HALF BACK HEADING HOME.

 

TEAM HOME RUN LEADERS LOGAN HILL AND WILL CRAIG EACH CLUBBED THEIR 12TH HOMERS OF THE SEASON LAST NIGHT TO SUPPORT THE PITCHING OF CAM VIEAUX. HE SHUTOUT AKRON OVER 6 INNINGS, YIELDING JUST 2 HITS. THE FINAL GAME OF THE SERIES IS TONIGHT WITH PEDRO VASQUEZ PITCHING FOR THE CURVE. ALTOONA WILL BE BACK HOME TOMORROW NIGHT TO BEGIN A 5 GAME SERIES WITH TRENTON.

 

THE STATE COLLEGE SPIKES CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE. THE SPIKES WERE BEATEN BY MAHONING VALLEY LAST NIGHT AT HOME BY A SCORE OF 9-7. THE SPIKES ARE NOW 6-11 FOR THE SEASON AND WRAP THEIR SERIES WITH MAHONING VALLEY TONIGHT AT MEDLAR FIELD AT 7:05.

 

THE JOHNSTOWN TOMAHAWKS OF THE NORTH AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE HAVE RELEASED THEIR 2018-19 SCHEDULE. THE HAWKS WILL PLAY 28 OF THEIR 60 GAME SCHEDULE AT HOME. THE FIRST 8 GAMES OF THE SEASON WILL BE ON THE ROAD, WITH THE HOME OPENER SLATED FOR OCTOBER 5TH.
