THE AKRON RUBBERDUCKS CONTINUE TO BE A THORN IN THE SIDE OF THE ALTOONA CURVE. YESTERDAY, THE DUCKS CLAIMIED THEIR 8TH WALKOFF WIN AGAINST THE CURVE, WINNING 6-5 ON A LOGAN ICE HOMERUN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH INNING. THE CURVE HAVE LOST 2 OF 3 SO FAR IN AKRON, AND STILL HAVE 2 MORE TO PLAY BEFORE COMING HOME ON WEDNESDAY.

 

THE CURVE TRAIL AKRON BY 3 ½  GAMES IN THE WESTERN DIVISION. GAME 4 OF THE SERIES IS TONIGHT, WITH CAM VIEAUX PITCHING FOR ALTOONA.

 

SOME FORMER PITTSBURGH PENGUINS WILL BE PLAYING ELSEWHERE COME OCTOBER. CHRIS KUNITZ HAS SIGNED A ONE YEAR DEAL WTH CHICAGO, FORMER PENGUIN MATT CULLEN IS COMING BACK TO THE PENS, SIGNING A ONE YEAR DEAL ATE SPENDING LAST YEAR WITH MINNESOTA, RYAN REAVES RE-SIGNED WITH LAS VEGAS FOR 2 YEARS, AND DEFENSEMAN IAN COLE INKED A 3 YEAR DEAL WITH COLORADO.

 

THE 2019 RECRUITING CLASS FOR PENN STATE GREW BY ONE LAST WEEK. 4 STAR LINEBACKER  LANCE DIXON OF MICHIGAN VERBALLY COMMITTED TO PENN STATE VIA TWITTER VIDEO. DIXON WAS HEAVILY RECRUITED, HE REPORTEDLY HAD OFFERS FROM 30 DIVISION 1 SCHOOLS.
