THE PENN STAE ALTOONA MENS BASKETBALL TEAM EVENED ITS RECORD AT 2-2 LAST NIGHT WITH A 92-73 WIN OVER ST MARY’S COLLEGE OF MARYLAND. THE LIONS WERE LED BY ISHIMEAL NANCE WITH 34 POINTS, AND DEQUAN JACKSON HAD 21. MEANWHILE, JUNIATA COLLEGE RAN ITS RECORD TO 3-0 WITH AN 80-54 VICTORY OVER WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON.

 

THE PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS SUFFERED THEIR FIRST LOSS OF THE NEW SEASON. THE LIONS WERE BEATEN BY 16TH RANKED TEXAS A & M LAST NIGHT 98-87 IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME OF THE PROGRESSIVE LEGENDS CLASSIC IN BROOKLYN. THE LIONS ARE 5-1 ON THE SEASON.

 

THE ST. FRANCIS BASKETBALL TEAMS SCORED A DOUBLEHEADER VICTORY YESTERDAY AT HOME. THE LADY RED FLASH BEAT SETON HILL 103-71, LED BY JESS KOVATCH’s 25 POINTS. THE MEN BEAT FRANCISCAN 96-64. JUNIOR JAMALL KING LED THE FLASH WITH 18 POINTS.

 

THE STATE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RANKINGS FOR THE WEEK ARE OUT. BISHOP GUILFOYLE IS STILL AT THE TOP OF CLASS 1A, WHILE HOLLIDAYSBURG HAS MOVED INTO THE TOP 10 OF CLASS 5A, COMING IN AT NUMBER 10. BOTH WILL PLAY THIS WEEKEND AT MANSION PARK.
