THE RUMOR MILL IS NOW BEGINNING TO TILL. WORD IS OUT FROM CBS SPORTS THAT TEXAS A&M UNIVERTISTY IS POSSIBLY LOOKING FOR A NEW HEAD FOOTBALL COACH, AND ONE OF THE LEADING CANDIDATES IS PENN STATE COACH JAMES FRANKLIN. NO RESPONSE FROM PENN STATE WAS ANNOUNCED, BUT FRANKLIN IS IN TEXAS THIS WEEK ON A RECRUITING MISSION. A&M WOULD HAVE TO PAY A $2 MILLION BUYOUT OF FRANKLINS PENN STATE CONTRACT, PLUS THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY THEIR COACH, THE REMAINDER OF HIS $30 MILLION CONTRACT, WHICH HE SIGNED IN 2013.

 

THE ALTOONA BOYS GOLF TEAM WAS ELIMINATED FROM THE PIAA GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS YESTERDAY. THE MT. LIONS LOST TO ERIE CATHEDRAL PREP BY 17 SHOTS. ST. JOSEPHS ACADEMY OF CENTRE COUNTY DID QUALIFY FOR THE AA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS BY DEFEATING ROCKWODD OF DISTRICT 5.
