A POST SEASON AWARD HAS BEEN HANDED OUT TO A FORMER ALTOONA CURVE INFIELDER. EDWIN WSPINAL HAS BEEN AWARDED A GOLD GLOVE FOR HIS WORK AT FIRST BASE THIS SEASON WITH BOTH ALTOONA AND INDIANAPOLIS. ESPINAL WAS THE ONLY FIRST BASEMAN IN THE MINOR LEAGUES TO HAVE A PERFECT FIELDING PERCENTAGE OF 1.000. ESPINAL PLAYED 81 GAMES FOR THE EASTERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS THIS SEASON.

 

PENN STATE HITS THE ROAD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2017 THIS SATURDAY. THE 4TH RANKED LIONS WILL PLAY THE IOWA HAWKEYES IN IOWA CITY ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT 7:30. THE NITTANY LIONS ARE 12 ½ POINT FAVORITES TO BEAT IOWA AND REMAIN UNDEFEATED.

 

UPJ IS GETTING A NEW BASKETBALL FLOOR FOR ITS FIELDHOUSE. THE OLD TARTAN SURFACE WILL BE REPLACED BY A BRAND NEW HARDWOOD SURFACE. THE WORK IS SET TO BEGIN NEXT MONDAY, AND SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY OCTOBER 14TH. THE SITE IS USED FOR HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL STATE TOURNAMENT GAMES ON A REGULAR BASIS.
