Hurdle Has to “Barrel-Up, and Command the Zone”

Mere weeks into the Major League Baseball season, and Pirates manager Clint Hurdle is going to have to “work some incredible magic” to keep his team in any type of serious contention for a playoff spot after first the Jung Ho Kang DUI mess in Korea, and now MVP outfielder Starling Marte being suspended for using PED’s!

I’d like to be like Pirate GM Neal Huntingon, saying that they want to believe as Marte said “that he didn’t know what he was putting in his body”, but c’mon!! ¬†Million dollar athletes have trainers, nutritionists, and a whole host of capable professionals around them to help them…or in this case, hurt them!

Marte is gone til mid-July..let’s hope Adam Frazier can continue to impress, Jose Osuna can come up and fill in, and platooning Josh Harrison, Josh Bell, and a host of others in the outfield can make it work and stay in contention. (Boy, where is Matt Joyce now?)

As Clint likes to say..”It’s time to put a foot down, and own their (his) work!”
