The NYC Bomber Has Been Caught . . . Thanks to Two Guys Who Stole His Other Bomb, and Accidentally Disarmed It

This is the greatest down-and-dirty New Yorker way to catch a terrorist EVER.

The cops caught the guy who set off that bomb in New York City on Saturday night, after a shootout in Linden, New Jersey yesterday. He’s a 28-year-old named Ahmad Khan Rahami, and he’s a U.S. citizen who was born in Afghanistan.

So how did they catch him so quickly? It’s perfect. It turns out Rahami had planted another IED nearby in New York, and he left it inside a suitcase on the street. Two dudes happened to walk by, saw the nice suitcase . . . and decided to STEAL it.

So they opened it up, ignored the pressure cooker in a trash bag inside and left it on the street, and STOLE the suitcase. And in the process, they accidentally DISARMED the bomb

The cops found it almost immediately and because it was disabled, they were able to examine the cell phone attached to the detonator. They traced that to Rahami, and they were able to quickly find him and arrest him.

As for the guys who stole the suitcase, the cops will try to track them down too . . . maybe to arrest them, maybe to thank them, maybe both? The only info we have about them so far is that they were, quote, “well-dressed.”
