Well how weird is this? After 20-plus years of the Pirates being at the bottom of the division, and normally being “sellers” at the MLB trade deadline, we as fans over the last three years have gotten a little comfortable as the Bucs would be bolstering the roster for a possible playoff run. Now this year, we saw the Pittsburgh brass get rid of names like Melancon and Liriano..guys with bigger salaries or being free agents in the off season A couple of good players from the minors too.. And all of the sudden some “experts” start the whining and “armchair GMing” about “giving up too much” or getting the “short end of the deal’ blah, blah, blah. The Pirates have become one of the TOP organizations in all of pro baseball. Other teams are modeling their franchises after what is done with the Pittsburgh organization. Quit your griping, quit your whining, this season may not be turning out exactly how we Pirates fans would’ve liked..but a wild card berth still isn’t out of the question, and I don’t know about you, but I like the fact that late in the season I can STILL say that!!
