Nine-year-old pays off lunch debt for his entire third grade class

Ryan Kirkpatrick heard about kids in his California school who couldn’t afford school lunches, so he decided to do something about it.
When he found out that fellow third graders owed $74.50, he took allowance money he’d saved and gave it to the school to cover the debt, even though the school’s policy is to still serve hot meals to students with a negative lunch account.
Ryan says, “I want them to realize people actually think about them because you’re not just bragging about stuff. I want them to feel happy someone cares about them.”
