SANDERS RUSHED FOR 1274 YARDS AFTER TAKING OVER FOR SAQUAN BARKLEY THIS PAST SEASON. SANDERS JOINS 4 OF HIS TEAMMATES IN DECLARING FOR THE DRAFT. THAT GROUP INCLUDES ALTOONA’S KEVIN GIVENS.

 

IT WAS A GOOD START TO 2019 FOR ST. FRANCIS. THE RED FLASH BEGAN CONFERENCE PLAY WITH AN 80-69 VICTORY OVER MT. ST. MARYS AT HOME LAST NIGHT. THE WIN SNAPPED A 7 GAME LOSING STREAK TO MT. ST. MARYS. THE FLASH WERE LED BY JAMAAL KING, WHO SCORED 25 POINTS. ST. FRANCIS HOSTS FARLEIGH DICKINSON TOMORROW NIGHT.

 

THE PENN STATE ALTOONA WOMEN BEAT FRANCISCAN LAST NIGHT AT THE ADLER ATHLETIC COMPLEX 74-43 BEHIND A 27 POINT EFFORT BY PAIGE BURK. THE PSU ALTOONA MENS TEAM DID NOT FARE AS WELL. THE WERE DEFEATED BY FRANCISCAN 99-91. AUSTIN KRISE LED THE LIONS WITH 29 POINTS.

 

THE CLASS 2,4,6A  COACHES SELECT ALL STATE FOOTBALL TEAMS WERE ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY.  ALTOONA’S GAGE HILL WAS SELECTED TO THE 6A 1ST TEAM AS DEFENSIVE TACKLE. HE IS A TOLEDO RECRUIT. ALSO, KICKER ALEX SCHMOKE OF BELLWOOD ANTIS WAS SELECTED TO THE CLASS 2A FIRST TEAM ALONG WITH CHESTNUT RIDGE DEFENSIVE TACKLE DALTON SEACE. BISHOP GUILFOYLE KICKER KOLTEN McGHEE WAS NAMED TO PENNLIVE’s ALL PENNSYLVANIA ALL STAR TEAM AS A FIRST TEAM PUNTER. McGHEE AVERAGED 46.2 YARDS PER PUNT IN 2018.
