IT WAS ANOTHER TOUGH LOSS FOR THE ST. FRANCIS RED FLASH FOOTBALL TEAM. THE FLASH LED POWERFUL RICHMOND BY 4 POINTS WITH JUST 1:10 LEFT IN THE GAME, BUT THE SPIDERS DROVE 65 YARDS AND SCORED WITH JUST UNDER 2 SECONDS REMAINING TO HAND THE FLASH A 35-27 LOSS. THE SPIDERS ENDED THE GAME WHEN THE FLASH FUMBLED THE ENSUING KICKOFF, WHICH WAS RETURNED FOR A TOUCHDOWN. ST, FRANCIS IS NOW 1-2 ON THE SEASON, AND TRAVELS TO ALBANY NEXT SATURDAY.

 

IT WAS A BATTLE OF CITY RIVALS ON THE VOLLEYBALL HARDWOOD LAST NIGHT AT THE PLEASANT VALLEY GYM. BISHOP GUILFOYLE DEFEATED ALTOONA IN STRAIGHT SETS 3-0. THE LADY MARAUDERS RAISED THEIR RECORD TO 4-0 WITH THE VICTORY.

 

OTHER WINNERS…BELLWOOD, JUNIATA VALLEY, PENNS VALLEY. ST. FRANCIS UNIVERSITY IS HOSTING ITS ANNUAL VOLLEYBALL INVITATIONAL BEGINNING TOMORROW MORNING AT 8:30. 28 HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS WILL PLAY IN 7 DIFFERENT POOLS. ALL TEAMS WILL ADVANCE TO THREE MEDAL ROUND DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS.

 

WEEK NUMBER 4 OF THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON HAS 3 AREA TEAMS LOOKING FOR 4-0 STARTS. PENN CAMBRIA, TYRONE AND CHESTNUT RIDGE WILL LOOK TOSTAYPERFECT TONIGHT. PENN CAMBRIA HOSTS BEDFORD, TYRONE TRAVELS TO PHILIPSBURG OSCEOLA, AND CHESTNUT RIDGE WILL HAVE A STIFF TEST HOSTING WESTMONT HILLTOP.
